She was about to leave her home, the only home she actually remembered. When her father, a submariner, died she was left all alone. She took his trident and decided to head for dryland to find her roots. When Ceri was only 6, her mother and grandmother were lost as the great relocation occurred in the land of her birth. Ceri's mother was a Human, and a drylander. Her parents had never married because Ceri's grandparents disapproved of their only daughter being wed to a subbie. They called him "blue boy" and "fishie" and refused to even let their daughter see him once they found out she was pregnant. Ceri learned later that her father didn't even know she herself was alive until relatives raising her finally located him. Living with her father was wonderful and exciting, but Ceri found being half-human, the other children avoided her. She spent the next 10 years of her life learning from her father, and being by alone. Now with him gone she figured that she would just as well try and find her mothers family and learn a bit about her human heritage. Now, at age 17, Ceri found herself thrust into becoming an adult. She was not at all prepared for it. Ceri smiled, and headed off for the shuttle that would take her on to a new chapter in her life. She never looked back. --------------------------
