Make one of the replicators, probably the one in the OOC General Store, have a
generic book available.  It would eat less db than say making a $container
named book, and $notes for the pages.

First I want to say its nice to see Elendil posting to ideas again :)
And now for my idea, take away the ability to be ooc in ic places, its rude
and annoying. Maybe I am crazy, but I thought this was a place to come and
play a character, not lounge around ooc and interrupt role-playing. If this is
not taken care of then I will start using my right to @bounce, I have been
tolerating it for 3 years, but no more. From now on I will be totally ic here
except when I post stupidness to *chat or speaking through pages.  The only
people I well respond to ooc will be the active GMs, Quinn, my sister and
Skeeter, the rest of you, in the words of GI Jane, can suck my cock.

A few words.
A) Shut up, no favoritism. Others of us than you and your close buddies have
to idle too, and we may not have TIME to walk to a OOC area, go @OOc, @home,
and ten RETURN to RP, missing half of it, because someone was knocking at the
door.
B) If you want to not hear someone who's OOC, @gag them if they 'interrupt'
anything. If your mental/RP state i that fragile, you should be in a hospital,
not on a MOO
And finally..
C) What the hell's it matter? Since you can't attack or be attacked by a OOC
person, there isn't REALLY a big deal. sheesh

is a problem, Ahabs won't attack them so they can wander around in ic areas
looking for things or get past monsters that they normaly couldn't. Mabye if
ooc players couldn't move around <chuckles>. Other then that lately people
tend to clump up in ooc chat circles instead of playing so maybe smoke has a
point.

Rather than making it so that people can't move if ooc (said in last post) or
whatever, there is another alternative. You could just make certain things,
for example weapons, crystals, and any other IC objects, ungettable,
undroppable and other verbs on them that should be used while in character.
Not sure how hard this would be but someone could maybe make it so that when
they dropped something while IC or whatever, they couldn't just go ooc right
away. I dunno....might be too hard to do though.
Just some different input.

Testing of items. Getting to look a area over OOCLY, since you wouldn't ICly
be there.
Oh yeah, ahabs and bieng OOC in areas....
you can't kill the ahab while you're OOC, it can't kill you. Sounds fair.
as for sitting around chatting while OOC...
Heh, we could just as easily sit around and talk OOC while still @IC
