There's no real reason for someone to NOT pick a mage advantage, codedly. -------------------------- Message 487 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Jan 2 21:28:25 1998 CST From: Mercury (#16576) To: *ideas (#504) How about in addition to the uncoded skill of blade mastery, for each level that is bought with CPs someone gets a boost in their coded bladed stats to show that with the drawback that they'll never get a boost while sparring for bladed anymore (after buying it twice or some other increment). -------------------------- Message 489 from *ideas (#504): Date: Mon Jan 5 10:49:03 1998 CST From: Clayson (#17237) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: re: Cerise's #817 on chat I agree with Cerise about a natural defense for subbies. You know those sea cucumbers you see in tide pools. The ones that you touch and purple liquid spouts out. I think subbies should have that. If attacked, purple poison gas type stuff is released, knocking out our attacker. -------------------------- Message 490 from *ideas (#504): Date: Mon Jan 5 11:36:43 1998 CST From: Dauthi (#10660) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: classes in general, subbies included. Crystal Hunters is similar to this, you get 200 crystals, a pat on the back and thats it. For heaven's sake bionics aren't even coded, soulmechs are unfinished, and as a whole theres not alot to the actually classes. However this MOO by far givs players the most freedom to work with in their characters, Not even gets the perfect toy, or the neat skill with the class. So we don't have much choice in things, classes are unfinished and they may not be still for a very very long time, for now I think you should try to just enjoy playing what your playing. On a side note subbies do have something, other players. When I got here subbies did work together as a team, and stuck up for one another. Recently we're trying to bring back the sense of community that goes with the submariner nation, but it can only happen if the people play. So &EoF, Play the game don't look for the perfect toy. -------------------------- Message 491 from *ideas (#504): Date: Mon Jan 5 14:13:05 1998 CST From: Cerise (#18199) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Perfect toy? I wasn't looking for the perfect toy Dauthi. I don't know enough people here yet to presume to say whether anyone else is or not, but for me...well... Let's just say I was commenting on the fact that you pointed out. Not much is finished here. I will say that if you need someone to help code things out and finish them up... I know a couple people who will volunteer. I like this MOO, I like the concept and I like the RP for the most part. But I think it detracts that things are so disorganized and so much is incomplete. Please don't take offense, anyone. What is done here is wonderful and whoever coded it did a great job so far. But as I go through idlly @finger-ing people when I'm bored, I find more and more 2 and 3 year old characters with no plan and no sheet.... Aw hell I don't think I'm even making sense anymore. So I'll shut up now.... I just hope someone who atually has some control out there is reading this and considering the things being said. -------------------------- Message 492 from *ideas (#504): Date: Mon Jan 5 14:18:58 1998 CST From: Toraxyn (#19315) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Re:Cerise I think some of the things she has to say are rather valid. Definitely a lot has been coded on this MOO, and 99% of it is very good. However, perhaps all this code and work has missed where it's needed the most, in making the underlying classes of the MOO complete and functional. Perhaps it would be possible for some of the GMs to re-evaluate where their time is spent, to see if it could not be put to help this a bit. Honestly, it's really sad to see a MOO that has been open as long as this one has, and yet so many of even the most basic classes remain nearly untouched. --------------------------
