For example if I enter drink beer, I only drink a 5th of the beer but if I enter gulp beer I drink a 3rd of the beer? It'd give the players more control so that we don't have player's posing "Stupido bolts down his whiskey" then the room is spammed by Stupido's 8 drinking messages of thrids halfs more than halfs etc etc. SOrry if this doesn't make sense but uhm I once had an excuse, nevermind.. -------------------------- Message 246 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 12:11:27 1997 CDT From: Clayson (#17237) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: hidden wiz's I'm glad you posted something regarding the hidden wiz's Lykaj. This is something that has been bothering me for a couple of weeks now. There really should be a wiz unhidden and available for questions. A newbie is not going to know if a wiz is hidden or not. Lately I have been approached by a few newbies in need of help. I don't mind helping them, but sometimes I'm in the middle of something or I really don't have the answer they need. When I do an @who to tell the player in need who to talk to there are no wiz's showing. I know there are wiz's on cause they are posting qooc's right and left. I suppose that is one of the wiz's responsibilities thou. At least have a board they can post to, where the players with problems can ask questions about att's, clothing , weapons, etc. that is readable only by the help team. That way the player wont feel embarrassed about looking stupid in front of the whole moo. It would be nice if the questons were answered in a timely matter without sarcasm also. -------------------------- Message 247 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 15:15:37 1997 CDT From: Rathe (#14172) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Re: newbies Ever think that the teks/geos might be in the middle of something/busy too? Heh. I've been bugged by players too, and for the GMs, who have to run this bloody place, I'm sure its really annoying for some newbie to be paging every few minutes "How do I...".. As players, we can tell 'em to just screw off, a wiz would prolly get in deep shit with Quinn. We also have a help line here. Just type page help question.. If anybody feels like answering the assorted lame newbie question, they will. I would suggest those Tek's/geo's who have the time to answer questions type 'page help //@join' and when they are busy, type 'page help //@quit' (I beleive this is the syntax) Also add a line to the help files about 'Page help'. Leave the poor GMs alone. They're here to have fun (and harrass hapless elves..) just like you. --$elf ( Insane ) -------------------------- Message 248 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 17:20:53 1997 CDT From: Lise (#14877) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: How lambda 'ish' But perhaps, have resident helpers. Players or GMS that know the system and are willing (time permitted) to help newbies. Not all of us were blessed to find cooperative players to help us in our first time. I can remember finding nothing until my second go at it. Thusly I hated this place the first time. Being a newbie sucks on a uncooperative place. Though this place has help files, some are stupid (like me) and don't read. Doh. Resident help that a newbie could access by typing @help would be a decent way to solve both problems. AS rathe said, the Teks and geos are busy to hell. I know. They don't need all the burden. -------------------------- Message 249 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 17:25:32 1997 CDT From: Mulder (#709) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: requests stuff On the docket for things to work on tonight IS a 'help' sortof thing, list, whatchamadoodle. It's been discussed (somewhat) among the wizzen, and will be implimented ASAP. The interface will be as simple as I can possibly make it, but you'll just have to wait to see what the final incarnation looks like. -------------------------- Message 250 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 19:26:38 1997 CDT From: Rathe (#14172) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Question Why did they stop making it so players could dub GM weapons? -------------------------- Message 251 from *ideas (#504): Date: Fri Oct 17 19:27:07 1997 CDT From: Karcass (#6537) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Dubbing Weapons Can the wizzes make it so weapons can be dubbed again by PC's? Put a sky light in the Lounge so dragons and other large beasts can participate in lounge RP? :) That might discourage people from badmouthing Riders, OOW people etc. just because their friends are too big to enter the lounge. It could also double as an escape route to avoid grenades, or being locked up in the Lounge at the mercy of some person... -------------------------- Message 253 from *ideas (#504): Date: Sun Oct 19 20:20:32 1997 CDT From: Menroth (#14123) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: How about..
