To see what one would know about a certain subject (some mage skill, playing a musical instrument). The person would state what they're rolling for (what they know and whatever), then @roll. Their skill roll would be 9+points in the skill/level of the skill And to avoid people spamming a room with rolling, if you @roll thrice in a set amount of time, you get @bounced for disruption. -------------------------- Message 76 from *ideas (#504): Date: Wed Aug 13 01:10:02 1997 CDT From: Fatch (#20401) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: Subbies Make it so that it you attack their gills enough that they suffocate (sp?) or something like that -------------------------- Message 77 from *ideas (#504): Date: Wed Aug 13 14:09:41 1997 CDT From: Skywalker (#6644) To: *ideas (#504) Subject: re:Fatch's Submariners breathe through two sets of organs. First off, anyone who's come across Seraph has seen her mouth off, and she did that in the Round Room just as much as she did in the lounge. 'Getting off our asses and sparring' isn't the answer. The way the system is currently set up, those of us just beginning with characters simply -can't- catch up to those who began before us, and still spar. You guys are the top dogs. Life goes on. Here is an RP suggestion that, sadly, I know is going to get shot down faster than a speeding bullet: Has anyone ever considered a character that is nonviolent by nature? Are sex and death the -only- things people seem to want to RP out on GW? I sure as hell hope not. Sure, they -are- powerful motivations, but there must be more out there than that. Look for other ways to interact other than scoping out the nearest char for kink, loot, a stat boost and crystal hoarde at their death... alot of people have put time and effort into making their characters 'real' to some extent, and will probably enjoy RPing with you. Death is a very real consequence of what can happen to you on GW when you do something. Your killer may not have a reason you like, but it's their reason. Think, though, please, about trying to find nonviolent ways to interact? I'm not suggesting getting rid of combat, just looking for an occasional alternative. Mail me the flames, folks, don't clutter up *ideas with arguing, eh? -Dee. -------------------------- Message 90 from *ideas (#504): Date: Wed Aug 13 21:54:18 1997 CDT From: Yshar (#12217) To: *ideas (#504) I was not suggesting that people hide.
