If approved, this would be the most severe cut in the history of public broadcasting, threatening to pull the plug on Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch. The cuts would slash 25% of the federal funding this year -- $100 million -- and end funding altogether within two years. The loss could kill beloved children's shows like "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "Arthur," and "Postcards from Buster." Rural stations and those serving low-income communities might not survive. Other stations would have to increase corporate sponsorships. Already, 300,000 people have signed the petition. Can you help us reach 400,000 signatures today? Admittedly, scrolls (otherwise known as notes, to the un-learned) are useful in this pursuit. However, which mage wants to have to constantly shuffle through old, possibly fragile bits of parchment looking for the proper method for conjuring a storm cloud? Not this one, and I doubt many others would relish the act. I therefore move that mages be allowed a replicable, empty book for keeping their own in-character notes about magic. Perhaps put them in the DarkReach Tower and only allow it to be replicated once? I have to keep all the notes I recieve in a notepad then place them down on a ton of notes because the character is an organizing freak about that. -------------------------- Message 9891 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jul 1 21:11:09 2005 EDT From: Mercury (#16576) To: *Chat (#5391) what's the command to see the low/avg/max for a skill or stat? -------------------------- Message 9892 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jul 1 21:12:40 2005 EDT From: Xavier (#37254) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: RE: Spellbooks I, for one, think it would be a good idea. Not that keeping scrolls or notes is a bad thing, but it gets to be a headache after a time, trying to remember what's what. -------------------------- Message 9893 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jul 1 21:13:24 2005 EDT From: Shandryl (#24740) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: books Simply put, books are quota hogs. THey are almosk 8k when empty. You start adding to them, and in a short while they can grow to 25k. (ask me). Since your character only get 50k of quota, and a character with messages set and a mail or 2 saved, you cant own anything else. Not a tent, not a scanner, not a medkit, certainly no clothes. Putting them in a rep would be irresponsible. However, charging for them, and monitoring quota, I think is the way of the Wheel. Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it! :> -------------------------- Message 9894 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jul 1 21:14:40 2005 EDT From: Shandryl (#24740) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: skills type skill focus or whatever you want to see. -------------------------- Message 9895 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jul 1 23:44:40 2005 EDT From: Heretic (#6143) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Spellbooks use a note from the replicator, be aware that large blocks of text eat up quota fast.
