Although 'Bug your fellow PCs' is a perfectly fair comment, it doesn't tackle one of the issues. I wonder how much ammo and other such goodies are being kept by eternally OOC idlers and other nonexistent PCs. Now adays I feel as though I can count on my fingers how many players are ICly active on an even remotely consistent basis. Getting ammo from PC's would be nice. Or maybe even better would be simply removing said ammo from inactive players. Now, I don't mean for people to have their hard-earned treasure rooms raided. I know that the players who have hoarded goodies fr so long have put considerable effort into attaining them. However, there comes a time when stuff must be recirculated. There's been a P-wipe for people who never show up. Why not a hoard-wipe? My suggestion wouldn't be to leave these players high and dry. Would it be at all possible to do a forced buyout of goods? Take the players who haven't been IC in the last year except to raid the occasional new area and give them sufficient crystals for part of their stash. And I would say to do this whether or not they are connected. Give them sufficient funds to buy back their goodies if they ever decide to repopulate the now aptly named wasteland. Until that time. Let people with guns fire them. And let those with nothing discover. I'm sure many people will roll their eyes in disgust and pigeon-hole this as a whiney plea for my own poorness, but those that know me would also know I usually give away anyting of worth that I own. The fun is in the finding. Not in the hoarding. Let people have fun. If you had 10k worth of stuff, but never logged on for a year, then suddenly logged back in, would you really complain if there was now 11000 crystals in your chest rather than items that GMs put time and effort into collecting dust. It's not only unfair to the people that have nothing. It's also unfair to the people that spend their time creating for our enjoyment. Gimme a 'yay' or a 'nay'. It'll probably help to show who has the biggest hoards. You see, if here were admin here who really cared about the game, Jackson aside, then there would be weapons, armor and ammo to share and use. So I suggest, play another game like CS, even though it is a socialist domain, at least the admin there make an attempt to make the game fair and fun. Eight more days till AFI in Vegas! What makes you think any of us gives a candy rat's ass about what you have to say about things that go on on here, considering how often you are -not- here. And another thing, what makes you think for one second Jak would want to go over to CS, you probably hangout over there all th time. I'm sure he comes here to avoid you. Oh, I'm sorry, I was just under the assumption that you actually had enough brain power in that little peanut brain of yours to do anything besides bitch. I really didnt mean for my post to result in arguments between the players. I kinda just wanted everyone to start spewing ideas about ways to improve things and ultimately increase the GW population. I know thats why there is an *ideas forum, but chat seems to get a much better response. This place has potential, and I think that's why we all log in here at times. It's not to avoid anyone, it's because some of us remember the good times that were the GW of old and wanna see it brought back. Now, I'm not a GM and I don't pretend to speak for them, but it seems to me that if we all started logging back on and actually going IC (I know this doesnt apply to everyone, but hear me out), then maybe the GMs will see that there still is interest in this old place and will begin making the changes needed to keep it interesting. A change has gotta start somewhere, but it's become a stalemate of no one logging on because theres nothing to do, and the GMs not making anything to do because no one logs on. Break the trend now, start coming on and if all goes well, things will be done. But hey, who knows? I haven't got anything to fire them with. But if I ever get my hands on some shells y'all better watch out 'cause I'll throw them at people... Or something... My main reason for the post was just to test the waters and see if there was life out there. There's been a fairly positive response, and that gives me encouragement. I know some people need ammo. But from my experience most people arem't walking around with guns. Thanks though for responding anyway. yak. -------------------------- Message 9141 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sun Jan 26 02:12:34 2003 EST From: Camber (#22034) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Comments? Look, I respond the way I do basically cause I loved this game. As far as your respond Foxfire, shout out what you want..but you have to admit at some point you are merely playing with yourself. I check in now and again hoping something will be up. But of course nothing is. And it is sad because the concept of this game could fill many imaginations. I enjoy text-based games, at one time; this was a place of fun and pretend. I really don't blame anyone for the downfall, though a few are responsible for the direction of what this game has taken. In some ways it is good this place has sunken to bullshit, otherwise I would still be playing and not expanding my business. But at times it would be nice to sign on and find a story of suspense and danger taking place. Miss you Dur daddy! And now my update on the AFI concert in Vegas. I was heading to the elevators in the Golden Nugget, and who stepped out? Well, Davey, imagine that. I introduced myself, shook his hand and we spoke for about 10 minutes till I ran out of complements. Very nice young man. Their concert was wonderful as usual, if you haven't seen them, go....next to Tool you won't see anything better. -------------------------- Message 9146 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sat Feb 8 00:00:21 2003 EST From: Dexter (#14882) To: *Chat (#5391) shut up you fruity niggers --------------------------
