Greetings, I'm looking of suggestios of great Dreamcast games, preferably for two players. Ideally I would like to find a good two players racing game, where both cars are in the middle of computer managed ones and racing against them, etc. (Unlike Sega GT which is just one on one.) So far I have Chu Chu Rockets, Crazi Taxy and Seaman. Shenmue and Soul Calibur are on the way. Also has anyone around any experience with the broadband adapter for the Dreamcast? The only games it currently works for are the various FPSs.... not NFL2K1, not Chu-Chu, not any other online game currently in the market. So unless you really want to play Unreal Tournament against PC gamers that will school you due to a poor input system, pretty much all of your online DreamCast gaming is going to be modem-only for a while. Also keep in mind that in a few months, Sega's going to stop making the DreamCast. Another system abandoned early on by Sega, makers of the 32X and Saturn. Stupider IS a word, as any word with an -er suffix is. It's a comparative that means it's moreso of the base word than the thing it's being compared to. Such as, if I said "You are stupider than a retarded chimpanzee with a headwound and a spinal cord injury." that would mean that, at least in my opinion, on a scale of one to ten, the afformentioned seriously afflicted chimp is perhaps a 5 of the "stupidometer" (which is also a word, by the way, as something with -meter or -ometer on the end of it means "a device for measuring (the base word)" such as a barometer is a device for measuring barometric prssure) and a thermometer is a device for measuring thermal energy, or heat) and you're definitely a 10. As is any word with the suffix -est is a word, so if I said, "You are, without a doubt, the stupidest person I've ever met." that would mean I'm saying of all the stupid things I've ever witnessed, you rate the highest. And, of course, you could get absolutely moronic about it and string together some nonsense prefixes and suffixes like "I'm more insaner than you!" or "I'm uninsane." Actually, "stupider" may very well not be a word, but it should be. It saves space over an obsolete expression like "more stupid than"... And, at least in my mind... it makes more isense. When you take a movie, and use it only for shock value, it seems to lose the story. To me the story was a love affair between Hannibal and Clarice, even thou it was under the subject of mind controlling drugs. The book introduced new and old char's while weaving a fine line between insanity and reality. The movie is of gore and shock, to me it has nothing to do with the trilogy of Hannibal Lecter. It saddens me when people can't look beyond the increasing need of blood and turn away from the need of good art. -------------------------- Message 8666 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Feb 15 18:48:11 2001 EST From: Nny (#25135) To: *Chat (#5391) Michael Medved, while -- I'm sure -- a personal cultural icon for you, is not the end-all be-all infinitely accurate opinion on all things media. For you unbelievers, I will point out that about 50% of the critics said The Matrix sucked ass. The movie changed significantly from the original direction of the book. I wasn't terribly pleased with this either, but -- nonetheless -- it is a beautiful movie, no matter what any over-celebrated critics may think. I can only think of 3 particularly gory scenes in the movie, and they are all -- save the last -- exceedingly brief. There are no showers of blood or orgiastic carnage fests. There are a number of deaths, most of which have a kind of twisted humor to them. If you take a man being hung and disemboweled as a man being hung and disemboweled, it is somewhat trite. If you take it as an elaborate joke based on particularly appropriate (and ironic) historical references, that changes things entirely. Don't throw in the towel on Hannibal just yet. -_^ Rathe, treasuring every little piece of Clayson's mind. -------------------------- Message 8667 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Feb 15 18:52:59 2001 EST From: Clayson (#17237) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: hmmm Eww..the young Rathe, I'm sure you know who Michael Medved is..right? If you know, then look in his past. But you know what, I have a way bigger bone to pick with you. Supposedly you are in Seattle, why haven't you contacted me or Karen? You bitch. -------------------------- Message 8669 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sat Feb 17 06:24:16 2001 EST From: DragonBabe (#5288) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Re: Hannibal Well, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I too have read the books. I loved 'Silence of the Lambs' movie and was looking forward to this next, 'Hannibal' after reading the book, but I since heard that the ending has been changed. Now..I will wait till Blockbuster brings it out on DVD. I still want to see the movie, I just am not quite as excited about it as I was. I have to agree with Pam a bit about how Hollywood often changes a book, most often for some sensationalism. (This is not meant to disagree with you Nny/Rathe) On another note; has anyone watched the SCI-FI networks mini-series on DUNE? I was a bit frustrated with it, having the movie on video (Though many things were changed, like the appearance of the Bene Geserats-I have the books and had read them many times) I loved that movie. This mini-series though...It was good, interesting, but.. Any other oppions?
