I'm all for slo-mo combat; I've drowned in the combat-spam before. But I just don't see why we need to give the ROUS and Grave Dancer's time to look at their screens and queue their actions seeing as how they auto-queue anyway ;) Again, just my opinion. -------------------------- Message 8240 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jun 2 12:06:04 2000 EDT From: Vertemis (#23360) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Hunting isn't affected. The one thing I did notice was the NPC's didn't seem to attack much. I could swing at them 3 or 4 times before I killed them, they never attacked back. Also, for some reason Clayson got stuck in some strange room off of Ghostwheel that lead to the undersea, the reading on my gps was 357/-265 -3 or something like that. There was a field plate armor, some pebbles and crystals. I took them, I don't know Icly if I should have them. I told Quinn about it but I could not get back in the room to show him the exit. I'm going to hang on to the stuff less for some reason any of you (GM's) think I should not have it. I'll prolly just pass the armor on to some newbie. -------------------------- Message 8242 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Jun 5 18:41:48 2000 EDT From: Skywalker (#6644) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: *ideas I'm not sure the combat pauses are too bad as far as hunting is concerned. I've tried it out myself and there's a bit of slowdown when you engage new enemies, but it's nothing unbearable. Now, player-player battles are a different matter. As long as the two (or more) participants are looking to hack each other up, there won't be much of a difference since they'll all be queuing up actions. But it does seem like 60 seconds is quite a long wait if you're trying to, say, ambush somebody. If you're the kind of people that like to use rounds (as laid out by the book in the R/T library), that could be a real hassle. Each time somebody's turn comes up, they could end up waiting the full 60 seconds before the action actually occurs (unless you queue first and are fast enough to get in your pose in less than a minute). Now, I'm not a fan of people who like to walk into a room, attack without warning, and kill you or take your stuff. But I do think that it's nice to have a choice of whether you want to have some fast-paced combat from the start, or if you want to be polite and use rounds. For PC vs. PC combat under this system, we're all kinda stuck somewhere in the middle. -------------------------- Message 8243 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Jun 6 06:39:56 2000 EDT From: Fortitude (#24841) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Useful site http://www.jump.net/~fdietz/glossary.htm It's got links to hundreds of glossaries. Player X is following Player Y. Player Y types 'lose X' and gets away with no notification, escaping to annoy Player X another day. Or Player Y types go s d n n n n n n n n n nw nw nw, fleeing into the wasteland so Player X, even though he was following gets lost in his dust, even if statwise, Player X could twice outrun player Y. -------------------------- Message 8245 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Wed Jun 7 22:22:24 2000 EDT From: Clayson (#17237) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Stuff I gave the armor to Fortitude to use in his up coming plot, so stop paging me about it ;) Play in the tp, you might find/get/or what ever it. -------------------------- Message 8246 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Fri Jun 9 18:07:25 2000 EDT From: Pico (#14172) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: ...
