(Rand and Rathe's characters, mage and theif alike, hee.) After beginning the campaign as slaves, our hapless heros manage to confuse the Orcs and goblins, Rathe casting web on the majority of the critters to hold onto them. Traveling deep into the mine, Rathe (using an invisible spell) manages to locate equipment and the old traitor Graendail, the royal mage who 'betrayed' the king before Graille was overtaken by the evil King Abdar. The old mage gives him his satchel and tells Rathe to travel south to the capital city. Rathe and Jaysen travel past small villages until they grow tired, stopping to rest. Rathe himself begins to study the items gained from the old wizard, discovering 'the book', a talking book with an attitude. Rathe mutters, "Smart ass book." The book retorts, "Better then being a dumbass. Dumbass." The book leads them towards the royal city, where they locate an inn. The people seem despondant, hopeless. They pay for a room and two meals, then Jaysen leaves to find his thieves guild friends. Locating them, Jaysen manages to discover the truth about the city, and the pact the wizard king has with a dragon, giving the dragon virgins to appease it and keep it from trying to usurp its power. He also manages to wrangle some theive's tools from a hapless young theif. Meanwhile, as Rathe tries to study some of the other books, a knock resounds at the door. Rathe finally opens it to find a beautiful young elven handmaiden standing there. She introduces herself as the princess' handmaiden and tells him he and the book must go with her. There's been some changes from the original subbie game notes so if you see any contradictions, keep in mind that the old notes are valid, but there's been some evolving since then. Now, for those of you that remember the old notes and want some explaining, allow me to do so. If you don't remember much about them, don't bother reading on. First of all, subbies used to have to ingest the hormone that made the subbies what they are. Now, the female body has gotten to the point where it can manufacture the hormone itself, naturally. Subbies now have a specialized layer of skin to keep them warm in the water. This is something that was never explained before and can be considered to be retroactively applicable to all submariners (i.e. we always had it and always will). Previously, submariners had to get webbing between their fingers and toes surgically applied. Now, subbies are being born with webbing already there and they can have it removed if they wish. Sonar. Another retroactive submariner ability. We'll get sonic communication coded. I don't know when, but it's on the list. There are other sonic abilities which are and are not mentioned in the notes and those will get coded too. Submariner religion was also previously undiscussed in the game notes. I put it in there because there is a submariner religion and related notes with information that all submariner should know but non-subs should not. Finally, the evolution. Two of these are actually coded with specific body pareas and natural protection. I think everything about that is pretty self-explanatory. If you have questions, they should be directed to me. -------------------------- Message 6612 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Jun 10 11:35:53 1999 EDT From: Clayson (#17237) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: new players Someone should add GW to mudconnect.com. -------------------------- Message 6613 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Jun 10 15:50:06 1999 EDT From: Toraxyn (#19315) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Artists wanted Looking for someone willing to do concept art and possibly 3d modelling for a video game design. I see players here playing on other moos, mushes, what happened to stop rp here? And don't give me the excuse that Quinn won't allow it, I don't believe that. I think you, as GM's should come up with something, do it and if Quinn has a problem with it then at that point he can say something. If cheating is not involved, or if NPC's are just used for the plot, what is the problem? Im not posting this to be a bitch, or criticize, it's just an opinion. Yes, one of the duties of the staff is to help with RP by making plots. In fact, that's what some of us are doing as I speak. However, that doesn't mean that you get to sit around and wait for it to be served up. As I recall, there has always been RP generated by players without any GM involvement so why is it so imperative that we start churning out plots like an infinite number of monkeys on an infinite number of typewriters? There's a whole lot more of you (players) than there are of us (GM's), so I don't think it unreasonable to suggest trying to do something on your own. And I'm not saying you need to scale Morlith with an assault rifle or soak up the undersea with a giant sponge. There are lots of perfectly fun, perfectly legal tinyplots that players can make up if you use just a bit of that mushy grey stuff in your head and combine it with some ingenuity. Oh, and don't tell me that's impossible because there are folks who did it in the past, are doing it now, and will continue to do so in the future. And if you just want something to spontaneously arise, which it can, then go in the lounge and wait or wander around the MOO because you won't see any action locked in your bedroom unless you have a roomie. -------------------------- Message 6656 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Jul 1 00:33:15 1999 EDT From: Akeashar (#20348) To: *Chat (#5391) Akeashar puts the giant industrial strength soak-all sponge(tm) away. Actyually, I'll just apoligize for that little morlith stint. *chuckle* it was done merely to pass the boredom because to say it bluntly, barely anything happens anymore. As for a plot, thats all and good but the reason that I'm not sure even a big plot will settle what we need. Too many players are always OOC, and just don't play anymore. The only people who I see frequently are Rhea, Sky, myself, Coreen, Durandal, Khyber, Red sometimes, and Rynaldus, not counting alts mind you. I can think back over the months where Dwight had this weapon he wished to seek, abd he contacted a bunch of us, I can even remember when I wanted to do my own plot. But the point I'm trying to make, is that while our imagination carries things a long way here, the game is severely lacking the development it needs. We banned Crystal hunters and Cyborgs for no reason, Before this they had no coded advantage, but still we had some really great roleplayers. Magic is fine and good, but it creeps up as the main direction of the MOO, I think thats what Quinn's problem was. He wants this to be a varied MOO, not Mage MOO. And not to be entirely against Rathe's post, about mages being part of the theme, but all the good storylines we've had, Embryon, Spectre, yours, Devon's various ones, have been mage ones. Whens the last time it wasn't revolving aroundf Mages? Zillah's trial, the riders and the dragonknights. The Complex, which has a bunch of plots possiblity there. The submariner nation and the aesirs. What happened to those plot lines? If anything I'd say we need to work towards more of those, then maybe Quinn would allow you guys more access to do your mischief. So to end this spam, I think that we should create a simple generic bulletin board in the OOC Lounge. Players and GM's can post ideas for potential plots, Lookingfor a player to add to your plot? Put it on., you a player and have an idea for a plot? Put it on. All too often players send to *requests, and I'm sure it gets over looked. This way it's staring you in the face each time you read the board, so no excuses *grin* -------------------------- Message 6663 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Jul 1 17:00:41 1999 EDT From: Flux (#24842) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Plots and stuff If I ever stop working these stupid 60 hour work weeks, which probably won't happen until school begins again, I should be able to make the terrain map for my new area and throw together the 3 or so rooms I still need to describe. After that, their should be some cool new characters, concepts, and ideas for plots available. I won't be starting a new class exactly, but any characters wanting to start from this new area would have to be brand-spanking-0-statted-rexes-eat-me-for-breakfast characters. And the mages will probably kick you around a lot. But it'll be fun. Hrm, I lost my point somewhere. I think it was that when I get off my lazy ass and get some time to finish up my area, we'll have some new RP directions to go in. In the meantime, I suggest nude female mud wrestler tps. Lots of long spammy posts about them. Maybe some accompanying pictures on personal web sites. Yup! -------------------------- Message 6664 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Thu Jul 1 17:50:31 1999 EDT From: Red_Fang (#5907) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: More Plot ideas sex and sex, I mean fighting and fighting!!
