He said that at one point in the past he could dodge the Chimera but that it was to the point where he could no longer do that, he had to parry it. After doing a bit of investigation with some GM's I found out something. The Chimera is unlike any other AHaB on the MOO. Normally, when an AHaB dies it's stats go back to it's parent when it reincarnates. This means that no AHaB can permanently boost stats. The Chimera doesn't do this. It simply reincarnates as is. Neither does the Chimera go through the normal stat degradation that a PC does if IT dies. This means the Chim has turned into quite literally a stat monster. Not even a PC with max dodge can dodge it. My question is this...what is the point of this? Does this effect game play? You bet! I can't tell you how many times I've been to the Plain and had my ass knocked off by that thing. There are a very small handful of stat gods on the MOO that can kill it. But the normal player just may as well kiss their butt goodbye if the Chim comes into the area where they are. Ok, you can say, "Well if that's the case stay out of there." But that means the Plain can then only be the playground of the stat gods. Is that fair? Just a question I'd throw out there for discussion. -------------------------- Message 5227 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Oct 19 13:16:35 1998 EDT From: Sterno (#21938) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Hehe Chim killed me too. Hardly anybody ever goes to Dixie so I decided to explore there. And I found out WHY nobody goes there. The monsters aren't TOO difficult if you have halfway decent stats. But area construction is a BITCH. There are areas where there are literally no exits. And if you get trapped in one may the gods help you. After going through all of the cardinal points and getting nowhere, I went through the description literally word for word, trying to see if there was an exit hidden there. No luck. I eventually had to appeal to a GM to move me out of there and back to the R/T building. My rating: one * (and that's for monsters only). Recommendation: Avoid the area unless you have a friendly GM willing to move you if you get stuck and can't get out. I used to hear that a 75 dodge was what was needed to avoid the dragon head's breath. As far as I know it wasn't until the feenids were released on GhostWheel and the "god monsters" were placed at various locations (banshee in N'Orleans and such) that the chimaera was made more powerful as a monster. I have no clue what difficulty it is now, but I'm sure that it's at a point where some newbie who's been hunting for ages couldn't even get a fair chance at killing it and having that feeling of accomplishment of killing the chimaera. But if it's because it boosts or whatever, I'd like to know your sources and such for this statement. -------------------------- Message 5235 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Oct 19 19:27:53 1998 EDT From: Mercury (#16576) To: *Chat (#5391) And Tirafal, define halfway decent stats. -------------------------- Message 5236 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Oct 19 23:13:36 1998 EDT From: Styx (#1610) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Chimmy This is a debate no one gets tired of, as it seems to come up regularly in the chim's 3+ years history of roaming the wheel. For the benefit of those PC's who weren't around for the TP that showed its introduction The Chim was created when Magus Kynwal got taken over by a Dimensional Demon (Spectre) who then used Kyn's knowledge to make the magical crossbreed. What does this mean to you me and a lamp post? The Chim is -unique-. How does this make it different then, say, a ROUS? There may only be 15 ROUS critts created. But they die and reset to try and show that there are multiples, and many multiples at that. So each time you kill one, a new one shows up to takes it place or you find one of its brothers. Even if the obj # is the same. Is the Chim the only unique critter? No, its not. Dragons, a couple critts in the Undersea, and Omar are also unique to name a few. Now for my usual rebuttal for the chim. Look before you enter a room. Run if it enters your room. The wheel is a big place, the chim is only one thing. If you don't want to do those things, then your life is in your own hands. -------------------------- Message 5237 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 20 02:19:20 1998 EDT From: Eponine (#3791) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: The banshee. Just ask him if you want to know the sknny on the Chim. To Styx: I still want to know the POINT of the Chim. WHY does this game need a God monster that maybe 3 or 4 people on the entire MOO have the stats that would be capable of killing it? And BTW, running from it doesn't mean jack if it chases you from room to room (which it does). The point is, it forces that entire area out of any kind of game balance. Again, I ask the question; is Ghostwheel Plain supposed to be the exclusive playground of the stat gods? Because with the Chim there the way it is now, it sure looks that way. -------------------------- Message 5239 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 20 10:10:12 1998 EDT From: Red_Fang (#5907) To: *Chat (#5391) Ms. Tirafal, All I can say is its always been there. True, my chars tend to be home-bodies, but that'll all be changing in a bit, and I can promise you, Red, you'll be seeing at least one of them turn up on your doorstep. Aside from that small point, you took a rather blatant stab at Rathe (which I wouldn't have appreciated no matter what the context ... I think most everyone knows that I consider Rathe to be a very good friend) and I'd have to say that while I do miss Rping with Rathe, I _don't_ think anyone needs to dictate to him how he needs to play his character. If he were going out and pushing down newbies, that'd be one thing, but I don't really think he's doing what he's doing to monopolize a hoarde of goodies - and the RP basis for his being currently sidelined is a damned good & wel thought-out one. I don't really mean to bash you in turn, Red, but you've got to cut some slack sometimes. Both of the 'accusations' made in your post were pretty unfounded, and I also don't think you're the only one who's stirring up RP... just because yours is the only World Domination Plot on the market right now doesn't mean the rest of us measly chars don't have IC lives. Why because I think Rathe has contributed alot to rp here on GW in the past and I know he has other alts he could play even if Rathe is dead and gone for good.. That was all I was trying to express, and if Red's entitled to his, then I'm entitled to mine -- and I DO read *tps, just for the record (those of you who know me should know at least this... and I feel if you're going to be a careful & decent player, you should be reading it religiously) but, Red, moving your 'army' from one area to secure another is kinda world dominattion. ;) -Sweet, Sweet Jessica , -------------------------- Message 5288 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Oct 26 22:45:20 1998 EST From: Karma (#20542) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Several points. Points from Karma the GM: 1. I understand that the elseM* chatter is annoying. It's pretty much even split between people who are vocal on the channel who do it, and people who bitch about it. I requested that we have a second channel created, fully open to the public, that all elseM* discussions could be confined to. Guess what? That request was denied, and I was told that we don't need a separate channel for it. It had nothing to do with 'we shouldn't be talking about it' from what I was told. 2. There are plots going on. Just because they aren't world-sweeping doesn't mean they don't exist. As a matter of fact, we were asked as a MOO -specifically- to avoid any world-sweeping plots. We were also told to get cracking on some factions that go beyond the power of players -- since in reality, no one person is taking over the MOO; be they Rathe, a Magus, Red, me, you, or Bob's dog Sparky. Points from Dee the player: 1. Red, it sounds like you're pissed that a bunch of people agreed with Ep that you should have consulted her about the spell. I still agree with her. No one else was pissed at you for doing it, we just agreed that next time, -ask-. Get over it. 2. Ep -is- RPing here on GW. Just because it doesn't necessarily involve you doesn't mean it isn't happenning. I know for a fact that she's working on trying to jumpstart the druids, and also has been RPing Tadewi quite a bit. Don't throw stones until you get your facts straight. 3. It is not 'treason' to play on other sites as well as GW. Sorry, but I didn't sign a contract when I came here that this would be the only place that I have fun. 4. Maybe the people who are just chattering about the fun they are having elsewhere would be a little more receptive to requests to not do so around certain people if they actually WERE requests instead of insults or threats. It certainly wouldn't piss me off if someone -asked- me to stop, but hell yeah that post and the constant insults any time someone says word one about another site -DO- piss me off. There's no excuse for slinging insults and garbage at people just because they're being social in a harmless way that doesn't entertain you. 5. Note: Any stupid BS screams of 'SPAM!' or posts to that effect will be flatly ignored on my part. I think the joke is old, but I don't scream insults about it, now do I? 6. Rathe gave away most of his stuff. Stop bitching about his now piddly hoarde. 7. I'd really like to have a separate channel for elseM* stuff. I still would. I made a room for people to chat about it in, and most people know of its existence. For those who don't? Well, it exists. I'm going to look into putting an exit to it in the OOC area. See, I tried to help create a solution to the problem of the bitching about elseM* stuff. Until you're willing to do the same, -stop-bitching- in my opinion. Note: A solution is not shouting, 'Shut up!' Yeah, for what it's worth, I'm pissed off now. -------------------------- Message 5289 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Mon Oct 26 23:21:03 1998 EST From: Red_Fang (#5907) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Hrms... I peek over to my right, in the IC world. I am hard pressed to find a night when anyone is out IC. When someone is, I see cheating, disrespect, and bullshit enough to feed a billion dung flies. I see players taking advantage of the MOO, because no one will stop them, no one CAN stop them. If a staff member decides to be cocky and take advantage of the one, SINGLE verb in place to try to separate chaos and order among players (read:@jail) , they get disrespected more and told their 'pitiful plight' for wanting to keep away cheaters is wrong. I glance to my left. I see people feeling perfectly free to paint lists with insults, jibes, and otherwise hurtful things. I see people who actually care for what remains of this MOO getting their asses slammed off on public lists for trying to make a difference. I see friends lashing out at one another for no reason but to hurt, simply because there remains nothing else to do here. And, far worst of all, I see NOTHING being done to remedy this. So, I guess I need someone to remind me why I am still here. It doesn't seem to be so obvious anymore. If we're gonna revive this MOO, we need to stop the trash that began to kill it in the first place. This is from Dee the player, just so the distinction is made. I can understand the logic that people, at times, felt excluded if they weren't able to be on a particular channel or whatever. What bugs me to no end, though, is that I constantly hear this: 'If a channel is just for a certain class or group, it's not fair because channels are OOC.' I've been on a bunch of channels. Here and on other sites. I don't think I can say that even once did I see people do anything 'irresponsible' with a channel. I haven't seen people plan IC attacks, nor have I seen info passed over channels abused ICly. What I do see is alot of joking around. I see several people asking questions about the way the group works if they don't fully understand it in the OOC sense or people asking about rules for the group. In some cases they've asked how certain commands for their player class works, stuff of that nature. I don't see the harm in this. Perhaps people who aren't used to this system assume the worst; I don't know. Every time I see channels mentioned I hear 'People shouldn't pass IC information through channels' and I just gape. I don't see that happen on the channels on other sites, why would this one be different? If that's the risk we're worried about, we should scrap the page verb as well, since if someone wants to do something they aren't supposed to, I'd think they'd be more likely to do so through a private page rather than on a public channel where someone is highly likely to call them on doing something they shouldn't. Maybe I'm just miffed, still. Paranoia is fine when it's justified, but it isn't in this case. Hell, we had a GW channel on StrangeBrew for a while, ages ago, when GW was crashing often enough that we'd all meet on SB when GW would go down. We chatted about GW there, and since it was contained no one was ever bothered by the mention of it. I guess I just can't see the harm in a channel existing here to contain all the elseM* stuff so long as it's open to anyone who wants to join it. If people are worried that they are being talked about, they'd be more than welcome to hop on the channel and find out for themselves -- no one would or could stop them. Those who are worried that 'IC things are being plotted here' could also join and see if that was or was not the case. I can see where people might see this as cliquish, but how can it be if it's open to everyone? Some people might not know what is being talked about, but I don't know what people are talking about on the public channel half the time, either. Does that mean I'm being excluded? No. It just means people are talking about something that makes no sense to me. Right now, there are two groups o' people. People that chatter about here and other sites, and people who chatter about this site and don't want to hear about any other. It's a pretty even split. The people who chatter about here there and everywhere should have the right to do so. The people who don't want to hear it should also have the right to have their own conversations without being told 'Just get off the channel'. I just can't understand the Highlander logic of 'There can be only one!' if everything is open to anyone who wants to join. Either way, it's getting nasty on both sides, and I'm not the only one who's tired of it. Building my room isn't going to solve the problem. People may want to be out and about IC here, and still toss a comment up to the channel once in a while about another place as well. Despite opinions on multi-screening, one hell of alot of people do it; whether it's several alts on one site, or one each on a few different sites. I don't want to hear the screaming anymore. From either side. It starts arguments that can't be resolved. It's freedom of speech vs. freedom from having to hear what you don't want to hear. If we were talking about harassment, or some kind of obscenity (Sterno, just for you I'll fight just as hard for the @xxx channel, too. *grin*) then maybe I could say I believe one side or the other is right. Neither are wrong, and neither seems willing much to budge. What happens when you're sick of a song on the radio? You change the channel. *sigh* We can't. -------------------------- Message 5299 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 04:42:31 1998 EST From: Sterno (#21938) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: *grin* For the record... We don't have mailing lists and channels and chat rooms devoted to other MOO for the same reason we don't have a *current-events or *anonymous lists here. We're not a LambdaMOO-esque environment. It's fine to use the @x channel for discussion of other MOO. Granted, it can be extremely annoying, and even "offensive" in the sense that it seems these people are going on about how cool RP is on these OTHER MOO. One asks oneself, "Why are they here at all?" If it's a staff member, well, we don't ask anyone to sign contracts, but if you prefer to RP or devote your time elsewhere, why are you on the staff? Of course, I know at least some of the people prattling endlessly about CS or DM actually RP here, too. Bah. I'm more concerned about Sterno's point wrt XXX chat, but not enough to make an XXX or ADULTSONLY channel! Just show some simple respect for others on the channels. Excuse the scattershot post. I'm reacting to this *expectation* that Ghostwheel devote memory and CPU resources to fund discussion of things entirely unrelated to us. Sorry, but we can't spare it. -------------------------- Message 5304 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 08:58:50 1998 EST From: Tirafal (#24173) To: *Chat (#5391) I can see the point of Quinn's post. It's a bit much to ask a MOO owner to set aside MOO resources to devote to other MOO's. On the other hand, it still annoys the hell out of me to have to listen to pub chatter about other MOO's I don't have characters on and could care less about. More then that, it's a real breach of MOO ettiquette. Chattering about other MOO's is an insult to the people that have worked very hard to code their butts off and create this MOO. And it's an insult to it's Arch. 'Nuff said. -------------------------- Message 5306 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 13:09:58 1998 EST From: Seraph (#16551) To: *Chat (#5391) Y'know... a friend of mine, a player, just paged me and said they were horribly depressed about the state of this MOO. That really, -really- upsets me, and I don't know whether to be angry or sad. There's alot of things that go into making an RPG MOO work. Theme, communication, documentation, fun in general, people feeling that they are welcome and safe in the OOC sense, and alot of other stuff. Most of it seems to be breaking down. Should I not care? No. I care about this place or I wouldn't be here. I try not to 'just complain', I try to fix problems if I see them and can find a solution. My hands are tied, and I mean on nearly every front for a number of reasons. If you can think of a way to make things better for the MOO, mail Karma. I will see if I can do anything. -------------------------- Message 5307 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 13:14:04 1998 EST From: Red_Fang (#5907) To: *Chat (#5391) Things come around in full circle and I think things will improve.. To get horribly depressed over the state of a moo of any kind isn't worth it.. Ya get horribly depressed over cancer, over lack of funds to pay the bills, over your dog getting neutered, but over the state of something which is controled as a mind set?? That isn't worth it.. So lets do fix these things but remember its gonna take all of us, not just the Wiz staff either. You gotta do your part. Hope this makes sense and don't offend anyone.. Rob. -------------------------- Message 5308 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 14:22:40 1998 EST From: Melira (#18088) To: *Chat (#5391) Look, there's been a lot of negativity going around here lately, and I can understand and sympathize with almost all of it on certain levels. I can see the points that some of you are making about the current slide in RP, about the bickering going on even now, about backstabbing or elsem*-ing or whatever. And maybe I'm a little high strung today, or this week, or for the past month or so -- hell, forget 'maybe', I'll readily admit that I am. And it's true, also, that I'm attacking the negativity with my own little brand of anger, but there's something I need to say. I'll just preface it by saying two things (a) I am dangerously on edge right now and (b) I'll bet money that this won't have any effect whatsoever on several of you, because it's kind of personal, for me.. for those of you who know me to any extent.. and those of you who I would say know me well. I am not having a good month. This is not to say that my life is filled with horrible, dark things beyond my control; I'm not failing school, or losing my S.O., or having people/friends die or leave... I'm not being beaten by anyone, fighting with my parents, or anything like that. On the whole, when you step back and look at it, my life is pretty good - friends, fiance, so on and so on. What I _AM_ is scared, stressed, depressed, and edgy. I realize I'm dumping a lot of stuff out into the public domain, here, but hear me out. I'm stressing uttrly about graduating this May with my BS and going to grad school. I'm stressed about getting through the application process. I'm terrified of leaving this cozy little college town, the circle of my friends here at Miami, and going someplace completely new and alien where I will most certainly be _alone_. Even when I came here 4 years ago, I knew people on campus. I've never faced down this kind of thing before... I am moving into a 2 year separation from the single most important person in my life (my best friend, fiance, etc).. someone who for the past 5 years I've not really honestly been apart from, another part of myself. I'm not sleeping well, bogged down in work, jumpy, panicky, all of that. So why the hell am I telling this to *chat? Because despite all the bickering, despite the (rather common) sense floating around here that this is [to use a former player's vernacular] a 'dying MOO', this is one of the few things that I do - be it RP, or simply logging in and seeing names on the @who list - that genuinely gives me comfort. That brightens my day. Knowing that you people are connected even (and maybe this is sad, I dunno) makes me feel better. Wherever I end up - Iowa, New York, Rhode 'freakin' Island - I'll still have net access. I have made friends here that I genuinely value. I have developed characters, an alter ego, that I'm starting a BOOK about, for Pete's Sake... a book that will likely be my Master's Thesis. There ARE good things here. There ARE good people here. There IS good RP here. People are fond of one another, treat each other remarkably well, share ideas, create things. I, for one, have never been depressed about the state of this MOO... and that isn't because I feel it's something that you shouldn't be depressed about, but because I've never had a reason to be. I don't see the same darkness that other people seem to see here. Sure, there have been low points, but this isn't one of them. At least, not for me. So I've said a lot... too much. So sue me. I just hope that even when we don't agree, you all realize that this place has a lot going for it, a positive impact on some people, and that - even if it does matter 'too much' to me right now - GW is important, and a place where I like to be. I guess that's all I have to say, because I can't think of anything else... and besides, I feel I've been really incoherent. Hopefully, though, I've made my point. -Jess/Etra/Lira -------------------------- Message 5309 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Oct 27 19:06:49 1998 EST From: Delaque (#24628) To: *Chat (#5391) Alrighty, everybody's been spamming the crap out of *chat with their rants about 'making their point', which I really doubt it takes 2 pages to do. Now I know everybody's gonna blow me off 'cuz I'm the stupid newbie who _is_ RPing, but...Red was JOKING. Get over it. And the channels, if they wanna talk about some other MOO, let 'em. Sure, it could be cited at spam on channels where people don't wanna hear about it, but like *chat, people have a right not to listen or pay attention. To be honest, I've avoided the last 5 posts or so, because they've been pointless rants about one person's personal feelings which could have been summed up in a paragraph, and most of the time we don't care. This _is_ an open forum, but usually one has the common sense to realize some people DON'T CARE. Now, I know I've offended people, if they even listened, but hey, wake and smell the coffee. Plus, RP is happening, it's just you're not involved in it, so you feel you have to whine. C'mon, just find some. RP isn't split-second-middle-of-the-night-right-now (unless it's MOO-Sex, kinky). So just cool down, and don't hang in an IC place for two seconds then blow the joint, stay there! I've spent nights sitting with Oz and gettin' no responses (heh), but who cares? After all, you're gettin' pot. points for it. No loss there. I was going to stay out of it. I half skimmed many of the posts, gleaned from them anything postive and ignored the rest. I tend to do that a lot lately. I let the crap roll off my back. You see, people, it's getting really tiresome to see the blaming. 'It's your fault for this' no 'it's your fault for _that_', no 'it's your fault for not seeing that I'm right and that it is your fault'. Quite frankly, we're all to blame and we all should be praised for our efforts here. Paradoxal, isn't it. It's about selflessness. If anyone really wants this RPG to get back to the old days, then we all have to be willing to give a little bit up to do it. That means that yes, everyone has to compromise. That means that maybe, just maybe, you need to consider what's really important to you in this game and ask yourself if the little piddly stuff is worth fighting over. Do you really have to be right all the time on every issue? No one is, we're all human after all. What are people willing to give? Where do you draw the line and say 'no, that's too much for me to give'. I mean, reading the bickering shows me that all of us feel pretty passionately about playing here. For many it's a VR home. I know it's my first online experience, and for that, no matter how frustrated I get with being here, I probably won't leave till someone pulls the plug on it. But, dammit, people, if you want the MOO to work, you have to get along with the others who play here. That means keeping your mouth (or tying up your fingers, as the case may be) shut sometimes and considering that your words actually DO hurt. Thin skinned, thick skinned, transparent skin, rock hard skin, words can hurt anyone as they're sharper then a sword. This is especially true in an online setting. This isn't Lambda, this isn't *flames or *sounding board, the list is gone for a reason and it won't be coming back. At least not on my quota. This is a game. I think it's high time we all sat back and reflected on this. -------------------------- Message 5318 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Wed Oct 28 03:22:46 1998 EST From: Eponine (#3791) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: On a brighter note. (Pronounced: Sowin) In a time that predates Christianity, the Celts believed that at the end of harvest, as winter approached, that on one night, Samhain, all those who had died in the previous year would return to walk the night. It was also a prime time for the Celtic Druids to read into the future, and to divine who would die and who would prosper. Sacrifices were often made to the gods, whose awesome powers were attributed to the shortening of the days. In other pagan legends, this is the time of the year that marks the ritual death of the 'God' (called by many different names) and the time of the Goddess's (same for her) grief leading into the times of winter. Some of the typical traditions that I have adopted, are to leave apples buried underground as food for the spirits who travel on their way to the Summerlands. It's also tradition to set an extra place at the table, for those who have recently passed. Divination and attempting to contact the spirits of the recently dead are also done, though practices vary from tradition to tradition. Some, like me, don't practice talking to spirits since it is believed that the soul has already transcended and may be living a new life and doesn't need to be disturbed. Decorations of pumpkins, gourds (painted or left natural), fallen and colored leaves, and wreaths of the autumn colors are left on doors and on pagan alters. Just thought I'd share a tiny bit of a vast holiday with everyone. Cats were seen to be a witch's spirit, in the form of an animal. -------------------------- Message 5345 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sat Oct 31 02:29:04 1998 EST From: Eponine (#3791) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: Yes. Repost of my post from another MOO. It's that time of year again. A time of wonder and a time of reflection for all of us. Jack-o-Lanterns burning brightly on neighborhood doorsteps, gaily costumed children going door to door asking for sweets with veiled threats, and the greatest miracle of all. What's that? A miracle? Yes, the miracle of Christ's resurrection. In the past 100 years people have forgotten the miracle that spawned this popular holiday. Halloween, the night where Christ was buried again and he rose as a flesh eating zombie to roam the streets of Jerusalem for the brains of the sinful. How he disguised himself in their bloody skins to infiltrate their heathenous ranks only to tear them limb from limb despite their many shotgun blasts that tore Holy Zombie Flesh from his side that turned into chocolate upon striking the floor. Please, keep Christ in Halloween. -------------------------- Message 5359 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sat Oct 31 12:59:58 1998 EST From: Mercury (#16576) To: *Chat (#5391) They used turnips for a jack-o-lantern. -------------------------- Message 5360 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Sat Oct 31 13:00:40 1998 EST From: Mercury (#16576) To: *Chat (#5391) Someone already posted before I read through *chat. I'm sure for some people it's quite hard to do because of the way they were brought up or whatever dogma they follow nowadays. But not feeding a dog meat will make the dog miserable. Snakes aren't about to switch from baby pigs and rats to vegan (not the planet) curry. I don't have a problem with eating meat, but I have a problem with fur. If I saw someone wearing a lovely mink coat and they were eating the flesh of the beasts they were wearing then I wouldn't have a problem. There should be more hunting, there's plenty of deer out there. An overpopulation of deer in New Jersey, a friend of mine recently considered starting hunting to supplement their meat supply. Animals, like humans, are meant to be eaten. It's just an unfortunate fact of life that we've removed ourselves from the predators that crave the stringy monkey meat we provide. I'd even go so far as to say that in the action, fighting, and anything but RPG and simulation genres, PSX rules supreme. It's held back partly by its lack of memory and save storage, and partly by the same "violence yes, sex no" mentality that pervades the broadcast television industry. You won't be pimping your spouse anytime soon in a PSX RPG. -------------------------- Message 5418 from *Chat (#5391): Date: Tue Nov 10 18:53:17 1998 EST From: Janus (#3597) To: *Chat (#5391) Subject: re: psx >violence yes, sex no Unlike a lot of console tho the kit to make your own games for the PSX is affordable (you can code them on a PC or a Mac with Codewarrior for PSX)...
