Well upon checking for my usual gear which I keep locked inside of a kirlian rucksack, of a locked keycode door on Jizo, I noticed that all my possessions are now gone. Among them, a polymer body armor, slisssh suit, and a New Genesis water bottle in addition to a number of crystals. The thing is, that even if people have all the time in the world, and Nny did code lockpicks, wasn't there a rule that said you're not allowed to harm/steal/otherwise take things from a player when they are offline the game? I'm pretty sure it's grandfather rules, but I remember distinctly getting in trouble and in the end having to return the items because of it. While unlikely that it is that I will be recompensated for it, I just thought the rules should be clarified, and that in truth it's pretty lame that people can't do anything besides for use macro/triggers to key in codes to a door to waste their time because they have nothing else better to do then steal from other players while they're asleep. End rant. ;p -------------------------- Message 949 from *Bugs (#1294): Date: Wed Oct 15 23:58:52 2003 CDT From: DragonBabe (#5288) To: *Bugs (#1294) Subject: Re: Keypad doors. Have these doors been set for TECH? I would like to see the code on them changed..Maybe an electrical shock if some tries too many times to unlock them with the improper code? And yes. When someone is offline, it is not IC or legal to break into someones room and rob them. I am sure the robbers would have to kill or KO the 'offline' person, which can't be done. How is a theif to know if that offline char is ICly awake or not? Anyway..Play nice people.. -------------------------- Message 950 from *Bugs (#1294): Date: Thu Oct 16 00:54:41 2003 CDT From: Nny (#25135) To: *Bugs (#1294) Subject: re: Kij Well uh I assume that when Quinn OK'd lockpicks, he was aware that things would be stolen while people are offline. I'm still trying to devise some coded system to break into residences. Maybe explosives... :b N -------------------------- Message 951 from *Bugs (#1294): Date: Thu Oct 16 01:35:55 2003 CDT From: Dante (#10660) To: *Bugs (#1294) Subject: Don't get me wrong Knee. I can understand the tent scenario, or even the I KO'ed so and so, but when you consider that for example, mariners have underwater doors, and that dragonriders live in inpenetrable caves, and mages have mage doors, doesn't it make sense that players who more or less live in normal housing would share the same benefits of safety and protection? It makes sense that a level of security where someone would break onto a corporate island, and attack people living in a hotel who then proceed to rob the place blind, there might be some sort of a deterrent. But thats getting into the 'reality' part of it? I just feel that the items taken are now going to be sitting in a locked chest for long periods of time never to be used, when I at the very least used them to help newbies spar up so that they wouldn't fall unconscious after one hit, but somehow I guess thats not important. --------------------------
